Three Feathers Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA
Three Feathers Vineyard, just 2 miles down the road from Torio Vineyard, was planted in 2014 and is comprised of 10-acres of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. At 800 feet in altitude, this vineyard’s northeast and southwest-facing slopes overlook distant Chehalem hills. The highest point of the Estate commands a picturesque view of Mount Hood, Mount Saint Helen’s and Mount Adams, part of the Oregon Cascade Mountains.
Temperatures are slightly warmer in this vineyard and prevailing winds are ever-present without being overwhelming. This micro-climate is beneficial for our vines while they acclimated to the iron-rich Laurelwood soil.

Block One of Pinot Noir 667 gave our first vintage in 2016, a light burgundy style Pinot Noir. We have continued to make a single-clone wine from this varietal and include it in our Cuvée Virginia vineyard blend. Laurelwood soils add a hint of spice to Pinot Noir clone 667 which we like in particular.
Our Pinot Noir 115 in Block Two is just starting to come into its own in our Laurelwood soil which has presented a particular growing challenge. Once the roots pass through the top layers of iron-rich acidic Loess, they meet little resistance and are able to seek water and nutrients more efficiently. We are thrilled with our recent 2021 Cuvée Virginia; a blend of PN 667 and 115, with a small percentage of Torio Vineyard Précoce for depth.
Finally, after 7 years of patient nurturing and waiting, we made our first 2020 vintage Pinot Gris from Block Three of Three Feathers Vineyard. These plants are taking off now but it took a while for them to acclimatize to this soil. Situated on a southwest-facing slope, the Pinot Gris vines are well-positioned to yield future fruity and crisp vintages with a pleasing touch of minerality.

Torio Vineyard
Three Feathers Vineyard and Torio Vineyard are both located on Finnigan Hill Road. Despite the fact that the property lines touch each other at one corner, growing conditions are slightly different based on the treeline and difference in altitude (about 300 feet)….
